What your church's audit trail records, and why
Your church's audit trail lets you look up who did something and when, from a child's check-in to a change to their details. Owners can find it in Settings, on the Audit log tab.

What gets recorded
The audit trail records activity as it happens, including:
- Sign-ins and changes to who can access your church.
- Children checking in, moving rooms and being collected.
- Changes to child and trusted person records.
- Changes to rooms, sessions and locations.
- Consent captured and the Terms of Service accepted at sign-up.
- Reports being run or exported, and audit entries being viewed or exported.
- If your church syncs with Planning Center or Elvanto: connecting, setting up and disconnecting it, including starting the first sync, and removing links to an old account.
- Each time Hey Burrow sends details to Planning Center or Elvanto, adds a person there or puts them in a household. These entries name the person and never the details sent.
- Subscription and payment changes.
Each entry records who did it, what they did and when. If your church syncs with Planning Center or Elvanto, an entry for a change it made shows Planning Center sync or Elvanto sync with the role Integration, and says where the change came from, like "Updated Mia Patel's details from Planning Center". When an Owner started the work, the role says who and how, like Integration, started by Olivia Owner, via Sync now. The other endings are via first sync (pressing Start syncing after setup), via a settings change and via Review sync. A value an Owner typed or chose in Review sync shows that Owner as the person who made the change, "in Review sync", not as coming from the other system.
For an attendance list showing children and their handovers over a date range, use the room report. Our staff keep a separate record of support visits, which isn't part of this log.
Entries are permanent
While your church exists, audit entries can't be edited or deleted by your church or by us. This preserves the record if you need to establish who was in a room, or who collected a child, years later.
