Deleting your church's account (and exporting first)

Only your church's Owner can delete the church, from Delete this church at the bottom of Settings. Your subscription ends straight away, everyone loses access, and your records are permanently deleted 30 days later.

Steps

  1. In Settings, under Danger zone, press Delete this church.
  2. Enter the 6-digit code we email to you.
  3. Press Download export to save one zip of spreadsheets with your people, your check-in and check-out history and your audit log.
  4. Type your church's name and press Delete this church.

What happens next

  • Billing stops. Your subscription is canceled at once. There's no refund for the rest of the billing period.
  • Everyone is locked out. We email you, not your volunteers. Anyone who signs in sees that the church has been deleted and the date its data goes. Parents who scan your QR code are told check-in is paused.
  • You have 30 days. The Owner can still sign in during that time to download the export again.
  • After 30 days, it's permanently deleted. That covers its people, children, check-in history, rooms, sessions, locations, audit trail and invitations. Anyone who isn't in another church has their sign-in deleted too.

Troubleshooting

  • You deleted by mistake. Email help@heyburrow.com within the 30 days and we can restore the church with everything in it. A restored church is always on the free plan, and your subscription isn't restarted, so subscribe again from the Billing tab if you need it.
  • Settings is locked. Delete this church is also at the bottom of the Billing tab.
  • Delete this church isn't there. Only the Owner sees it. To hand the church to someone else instead, see Handing your church to someone else.
  • The name isn't accepted. Type it exactly as shown above the box.
  • The code didn't arrive or has expired. Codes last 2 minutes. Press Send a new code.
