Invite a volunteer

Your church's Owner can invite a volunteer, and so can a volunteer with Manage volunteers access. If you don't have Manage volunteers access, ask the Owner to turn it on. Go to Volunteers, press Invite a volunteer, and enter their name and email. They get an email invitation and join your church when they accept it.

Steps to invite a volunteer

1. Go to Volunteers and press Invite a volunteer.
2. Fill in their details. If they need more than check-in, tick what they should be able to do under Access.
3. Press Send invitation.

Their row shows Invited until they accept, and we'll email you when they do. Until then they can't sign in or see anything. See I was invited. How do I accept? for what they'll see.

What they'll be able to do

Every volunteer can run check-in and look up people. Their sidebar shows Today, People and QR codes, and a child's record is view only to them.

The Access section lets the Owner add more to that, one area at a time: Manage people, Manage volunteers, Manage rooms, Manage sessions and View reports. All five start off. To change them later, see Change a volunteer's access.

Use the email they'll recognize

The invitation goes to the address you type, and that address is how they sign in. Hey Burrow has no passwords, so use the address they read on their phone.

Troubleshooting

• They say the invitation never arrived. Check the spelling on their row, then their spam folder. If the address is wrong, press Cancel invitation and send a fresh one to the right address.
• How long does the invitation last? It doesn't expire, and it can't be resent. To stop it or send it again, press Cancel invitation and invite them again.
• You can't see Access in the invite. Only your church's Owner can set access. A volunteer with Manage volunteers access invites with check-in access, and the Owner can add more afterwards.
• You invited the wrong person. Press Cancel invitation on their row to withdraw it.
• They already belong to another church on Hey Burrow. One person can belong to several churches and switch between them. See Belonging to more than one church.
