Add a child and their trusted person

Your church's Owner can add a family, and so can a volunteer with Manage people access. Press Add person on People, choose A family, then fill in the trusted person (the parent or caregiver collecting the child) and their children in one form.

Steps to add a family

  1. Open People and press Add person.
  2. Under What are you adding?, choose A family.
  3. Fill in the trusted person's details. They aren't emailed anything now. They verify themselves the first time they sign in to check in.
  4. Fill in each child's details. If you leave Room alone, it suggests one from the child's age, or you can pick a different one.
  5. Press Add another child for a sibling. For someone else who can collect them, like a second parent, add another adult under Other trusted people. See Trusted people: who can collect a child.
  6. Press Save.

Adding a child to a family you've already added

Choose A child instead of A family. It asks for the child's details and the family's existing Primary trusted person, which you search for.

Adding a trusted person with no child yet

Choose A trusted person for an adult who'll only collect other people's children. Leave Primary trusted person blank unless you're linking them to a family straight away.

Troubleshooting

  • You can't find Add person. Add person shows for your church's Owner and for volunteers with Manage people access. Ask the Owner to add the family or to give you that access.
  • You've got more than 20 children or 10 other trusted people for one family. That's the limit for a single form. Save what you have and add the rest with a second Add person.
