What can trusted people do from their own phone?
Trusted people are the adults your church lets collect a child, and they run their own check-in and pickup from their phone, in the check-in area at checkin.heyburrow.com.
Checking in
A trusted person scans the church's QR code, signs in with an emailed code or a passkey, and chooses which of their children are with them. They can also choose a different open room for a child, and that room becomes the child's room for next time. Any trusted person for a child can check them in, so whoever arrives first can do it. See Checking your child in.
Collecting their child
They press Check out children on their phone. A Relaxed room releases the child straight away. A Secure room waits for a volunteer to confirm the handover on the room dashboard. See Check a child out and Collecting your child.
Adding a child
A trusted person adds their own children from the check-in area, with a name, date of birth and any allergies or medical notes.
Inviting another adult
Only the primary trusted person, the adult who added the child, can invite someone else to collect them, from the Trusted people row on their Today screen. You can do the same from People if a family asks you to. See Letting someone else collect your child and Trusted people: who can collect a child.
Updating their child's details
The primary trusted person can change their child's name, date of birth and allergies or medical notes from the check-in area. See How do I update my child's details? and Allergies and medical notes: what volunteers see.
A new phone or number
A trusted person updates their own name, mobile number or email from Your details in the check-in area. See I've got a new phone or number and How do I change a trusted person's mobile number?.
Passkeys
A trusted person can add a passkey from Your details, so future sign-ins use their face, fingerprint or screen lock instead of an emailed code. An emailed code always still works, even if they remove a passkey. See I've got a new phone or number.
What they see of their own information
A trusted person can see what your church holds about their family and how it's protected. See Is my child's information safe?.
