Locations: do you need them?
You need locations only if your church meets in more than one place, such as two campuses or sites. The setup flow asks once, right after you create your church, and you can leave them out if you meet in one place.
What locations are used for
A location does two things.
- You can tie a session to one, such as Sunday 9:00 am · Main Street. That's how the
Todaydashboard knows which services are yours today. - Each location gets its own check-in QR code, so two locations means two codes and two links for trusted people (usually parents and caregivers) to scan. See Your check-in QR code.
Rooms and people are shared across your whole church, so a Nursery you create once is available at each location.
Steps to add a location
- Go to
Settingsand open theLocationstab. - Press
Add locationand name each place.Add another locationgives you more rows.
The same tab is where you rename or archive one.
Locations and billing
The paid plan is billed per active location. If you add or archive a location partway through a billing period, the difference is prorated on your next invoice.
What changes once you have two
The location's name at the top of the Today dashboard becomes a switcher. The dashboard then lists only the sessions running at the location you've chosen.
Troubleshooting
- You can't find
Locationsin the sidebar. It's a tab underSettings, next toChurchandBilling, and only your church's Owner sees it. - A session shows under both locations. A session with
Locationleft asNo locationappears under every location. Edit the session and give it one. - You want to remove a location.
Archivehides a location and keeps its history. Its check-in QR code stops working, including printed copies, until you restore it fromView archived locations. See Archiving a room, session or location.
