When a room closes

A room closes on its own once its last child has left and check-in has closed. If check-in is still open, the room stays open for late arrivals, and you can close it yourself from the room dashboard whenever nobody is checked in.

Closing on its own

Once the last child in a room leaves, the room closes, provided its Check-in duration has run out. A child can leave because a volunteer confirmed the handover, a Relaxed check-out released them, or they were moved to another room.

A room that's empty when check-in closes is closed for you within a couple of hours, including a room nobody checked in to. Press Close room if you don't want to wait.

After it closes

A closed room stays on the Today dashboard for 10 minutes, and you can open its dashboard to look back at who was there. After that it leaves Today.

Closing it yourself

On the room dashboard, press Close room, then press Close room again to confirm. The button is there only while the room is empty.

Use it for a room opened by mistake or left running with nobody in it. If children are still checked in, check them all out first.

Reopening

To reopen a closed room, go to the Today dashboard and press Open a room again, as you did the first time. See Open a room.

Troubleshooting

  • You can't find Close room. It only shows while the room is empty. Check Who's here on the room dashboard for who's still checked in.
  • Your room is empty but still open. Check-in is probably still open, so the room is waiting for late arrivals. It closes on its own after check-in closes, or you can press Close room.
  • Your room disappeared from Today during the session. It closed more than 10 minutes ago. Open a room again if you're still running the session.
